To respond to the national "Belt and Road" Initiative and deepen international cooperation in vocational education, from April 19 to 26, 2025, Wang Wei, President of Beijing Polytechnic University, led a delegation to Egypt and Morocco in Africa for vocational education cooperation and exchange visits. This visit marked the first international educational exchange since the university was upgraded to a vocational undergraduate institution, aiming to promote vocational education resource sharing, standard co-construction, and joint talent training between China and North Africa, injecting new momentum into serving international production capacity cooperation. In Egypt, the delegation visited Benha National University, Helliopolis University, and New Cairo Technological University, all of which warmly received the delegation. At Benha National University, President Tamer Samir met with the delegation. Both sides discussed short-term student exchange, Egyptian students studying in China, and faculty training, and signed a framework cooperation agreement. The two sides plan to launch a summer school program this year to facilitate student exchange.

At New Cairo Technological University, President Tarek Mekhail hosted the delegation. Discussions focused on joint professional construction, faculty exchange, and student advanced studies in China. The delegation also visited the university’s automotive training workshops, mechanical training rooms, and clean energy training facilities.

At Helliopolis University, President Helmy Abouleish received the delegation. The two sides discussed Chinese language study programs for students, cultural exchange projects for students from both countries, and shared experiences in offering aesthetic education courses. After the meeting, the delegation toured the school’s practical training environments.

In Morocco, the delegation attended the closing ceremony of the 2nd China-North Africa International Vocational Education Digital Innovation Skills Competition, participated in the opening ceremony of the "Chinese Language Workshop" at CITIC Dicastal Morocco Branch, and visited the School of Information Design. At the closing ceremony of the 2nd China-North Africa Competition, Wang Wei, head of the delegation, delivered a brief speech and presented a hand-drawn scroll Twenty-Four Solar Terms created by students from Beijing Polytechnic University’s Chinese Language Learning and Testing Center to the organizers. In his speech, Wang noted the growing exchanges between China and Morocco, expressed hope to further enrich cultural and skill exchange channels for youth from both countries, and invited Moroccan youth to study at Beijing Polytechnic University. The delegation later took group photos with Chinese and international participants.

During the closing ceremony intermission, Wang Wei also met with Abdellatif Moukrim, President of Hassan I University, who specially traveled to attend. Both sides affirmed the achievements in building the Chinese Language Learning and Testing Center and agreed to continuously expand the scope of cooperation in the future.

At CITIC Dicastal Morocco Branch, the delegation visited the corporate exhibition hall and production line and had an in-depth exchange with Badr Lahmoudi, President of CITIC Dicastal Morocco Branch. Badr Lahmoudi introduced the company’s development and labor needs. President Wang Wei stated in his speech that the university will collaborate with CITIC Dicastal through the "Chinese Language Workshop" project to provide "Chinese language + vocational skills" training for local employees of the Morocco branch, enhancing their cross-cultural communication abilities and professional skills to meet the overseas development needs of Chinese enterprises, improve employees’ Chinese proficiency and production skills, and help Moroccan youth better plan their careers.

At the School of Information Design, President Abdelaziz EL Kayloubi received the delegation, and both sides exchanged views on student study-abroad programs in China.

This visit yielded fruitful results in focusing on industry-education integration, exporting vocational education experience, and deepening cultural exchanges. In the future, the university will continue to build a cross-border vocational education cooperation ecosystem of "joint professional construction, shared standard research, and collaborative talent cultivation" to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents for the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the overseas development of Chinese enterprises.
