Beijing, April 11 – The inauguration ceremony of Beijing Polytechnic University (BPU) was held on the morning of April 11, marking a milestone in advancing vocational undergraduate education and cultivating high-caliber technical professionals in the capital.

Senior officials including Yu Yingjie, Member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the Education Working Committee; Li Shixin, Executive Deputy Director of the CPC Organization Department; Li Junfeng, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee; and Li Yi, Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee and Director of the Municipal Education Commission, attended the ceremony. The event brought together university leadership, mid-level administrators, faculty representatives, delegates from the university's Party congress and staff union, non-affiliated intellectuals, retired faculty members, and student representatives to witness this historic moment. The ceremony was presided over by Li Junfeng.

Commitments to Excellence

Zhang Qihong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of BVUST, expressed gratitude for the municipal government's longstanding support. He emphasized the university's commitment to strengthening political governance under the Party's leadership, upholding the fundamental mission of moral education, and advancing vocational education reforms. "We will leverage our distinctive strengths to contribute 'BPU Solutions' to modern vocational education systems while enhancing our capacity to serve national strategies and regional socioeconomic development," he stated.

Wang Wei, President of BPU, outlined the institution's roadmap under the guiding principles of "internal consolidation, external expansion, five-dimensional education, and triple integration." "We aim to set benchmarks in vocational education reform, excel in high-end skills training, lead in technological innovation services, and pioneer industry-city-education synergies to empower Beijing's high-quality development in the new era," Wang affirmed.

Symbolic Unveiling

The ceremony concluded with a solemn unveiling of the university's official plaque by Secretary Zhang and President Wang. As the red silk curtain dropped to resounding applause, the campus community celebrated the dawn of a new chapter for BPU.
