As global economic integration advances, trade in services has become an increasingly vital bridge connecting economies worldwide. To ensure thorough preparation for the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the university held a preparatory meeting on the afternoon of September 2. The session aimed to coordinate comprehensive arrangements and refine preparations to showcase the university’s strengths at this international event. Vice President Chen Jiangfeng attended the meeting, along with representatives from the Division of International Cooperation &Exchange (Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs) , the Academic Affairs Office, the Office of Science and Technology, and deans overseeing internationalization efforts from various schools.

During the meeting, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange provided a detailed report on the progress of the university’s preparations for this year’s CIFTIS. Subsequently, representatives from relevant departments and schools engaged in in-depth discussions on exhibition content. Topics ranged from innovations in talent development models to the application of research achievements and successful international collaboration cases—adding depth and diversity to the upcoming showcase.

Vice President Chen Jiangfeng acknowledged the hard work and notable achievements made during the preparatory phase and expressed high expectations for the event. He emphasized that CIFTIS presents a crucial opportunity for the university to expand its global influence. "We must leverage this platform to fully demonstrate our achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international cooperation in recent years," he stated. He also urged each school and department to highlight their unique strengths while enhancing interactivity, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the university’s educational excellence and research capabilities.

Chen stressed that schools should prominently feature award-winning projects from student skill competitions, innovation contests, and other competitions, as these accomplishments not only reflect students’ abilities but also epitomize the university’s teaching quality and innovative spirit. "Through CIFTIS, we will showcase our students’ talents and convey the warmth and strength of our education to the world," he added.

The 2024 CIFTIS will commence on September 12 at Shougang Park, with the university’s exhibition booth set to debut in Hall 7.
