Tianjin, China | November 20-22, 2024 — Beijing Polytechnic University (BPU) was honored with the "Outstanding Partner" award at the 2024 World Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Development Conference, themed "Innovation Empowers the Future, Skills Shape Lives." President Wang Wei represented the university at the event, which marked China’s first major international education summit following its National Education Conference, underscoring the country’s commitment to advancing global TVET collaboration.
With over 600 delegates from 77 countries—including nearly 60 education ministers—the conference highlighted China’s expanding leadership in vocational education, notably attracting more international participants than domestic attendees for the first time.
President Wang engaged in high-level dialogues at the "2024 China-North Africa International Production Capacity Cooperation Forum" and the "TVET for Global Sustainable Development Forum," where UESTC was recognized by Morocco’s Office for Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT) for its contributions to advancing skills development in North Africa.

In a keynote speech titled "Bridging Continents: Building Skills Exchange Pathways for China-Africa Youth," Wang showcased UESTC’s pioneering "Chinese Language + Vocational Skills" programs, which have empowered North African students through tailored technical training. He emphasized the university’s role in aligning its initiatives with the Belt and Road’s sustainable development goals.

During the conference’s exhibition, Wang explored innovations in digital education with Yonyou Xindao, a leading ed-tech firm, discussing collaborative strategies for building multidisciplinary smart labs and IT training resources.
