In January 2024, the school organized a student group to go to Tunisia to participate in the "Charm of North Africa in the Belt and Road International Young Talent Program - China-Tunisia Cultural Exchange Ambassador Activity". The students of our school taught the local young people to draw Chinese paintings, write Chinese characters, and sing Chinese songs, demonstrating the profoundness of traditional Chinese culture to Tunisian young students. They also held basketball, football, and beach sports competitions with local students, showcasing the demeanor of Chinese vocational education students. Through a variety of rich cultural and sports activities, the young people of the two countries formed a deep friendship.

At the symposium, Du Songlin from the School of General Education and Cheng Guanhong from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, on behalf of the team, reported on the exchange, study, and living conditions during their trip to Tunisia, sharing what they had seen, heard, felt, and thought. The two students recounted their 8-day experience in Tunisia. They visited the University of Monastir in Tunisia, observed the mechanical and electrical engineering training room and biological laboratory of the university, and saw the similarities and differences between local universities and Chinese universities. They had cordial exchanges with local young people and felt the vitality, passion, and learning attitude of local college students. When they visited the Monastir Institute of Fashion and the School of Tourism, they made local ethnic costumes and traditional delicacies with local young people and experienced practical courses that organically combined professional skills with traditional culture. They also visited a local olive oil processing enterprise, planted an olive tree named the "Electronic Science and Technology Tree" in the olive plantation, and participated in local marine environmental protection activities, contributing to the cleaning of the ocean together with local young students.

At the symposium, each student shared their personal experiences of the overseas exchange. The students also put forward opinions and suggestions for the school's international cooperation and exchange work, especially the overseas exchange work for students. The students hoped that there would be more opportunities for more students to participate in overseas exchange activities and the school's international cooperation projects, to stimulate their learning interest, broaden their international horizons, and improve their comprehensive qualities and abilities.

In his speech, Chen Jiangfeng affirmed the performance and report of the team and mentioned that this overseas exchange activity was the first student overseas exchange group organized by the school after the pandemic, which was of great significance. The students had rich harvests and many feelings. He hoped that the students would apply what they had learned and thought in their future study and life, and also hoped that the students would publicize the significance of the exchange activities to those around them and contribute to the international development of the school's education. Chen Jiangfeng said that he was grateful to the students for fully introducing the teaching and practical training of local schools in Tunisia and the overseas exchange situation, and for putting forward valuable opinions and suggestions for the school's international cooperation and exchange work. The school would conduct a full study, continuously improve its work, and integrate these valuable opinions into the internationalization of the school's talent cultivation work, looking forward to the common growth of the students and the school.
