November 11, 2024 – A delegation from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), led by Michael Galli, Director of International Relations, visited the university to explore partnerships in vocational education. Vice President Chen Jiangfeng welcomed the delegation, highlighting opportunities for deeper academic exchanges between Chinese and Canadian institutions.

During talks, Chen outlined the university’s educational profile, strategic development goals, and internationalization efforts. He expressed strong interest in collaborating with BCIT—a leader in applied bachelor’s degree programs—to enhance faculty and student exchanges.

Michael Galli detailed BCIT’s history, program offerings, and expertise in competency-based vocational education. Both sides held in-depth discussions on joint initiatives, reaching consensus on advancing Sino-Canadian technical and vocational education and training (TVET) cooperation.

Before the meeting, the BCIT delegation toured the university’s Bioengineering, Economics and Management, and Automotive Engineering training facilities, observing hands-on teaching methodologies and industry-academia collaboration models.
